Static + Distance on KPSU: Memory
I’ve been neglecting my duties as (currently) the sole author and caretaker of Static + Distance. However, I assure you it’s for a good reason. Starting next week, Static + Distance on KPSU moves to every other Friday at 2pm PST. What’ll be happening on that other Friday? Well, starting October 9th I’ll be co-hosting a new show called Beyond Footnotes. This show will feature interviews with historians from Portland, primarily those working at and attending Portland State University. There will be a lot more about the purpose and focus of the show on our first episode, which again, premieres on October 9th at 2pm PST. Our guest will be Professor Tim Garrison, the chair of the Portland State History Department.
In the meantime, here is yesterday’s episode of Static + Distance. It’s a compilation of the various tracks I’ve used as lead ins on past episodes of the show. The songs are primarily instrumentals, but there’s a variety of genres represented here. From Seven Fields Of Aphelion’s spooky downtempo to the illustrious guitar work of Sir Richard Bishop, there’s something for everyone. Give it a listen below.
